DESCRIPTION

Our super stylish cactus silk cushions are made at a fair trade Women's Cooperative in the Middle Atlas Mountains. The cushion is made from the Saharan Aloe Vera Cactus - the fibers from this plant are spun into a silky yarn, woven into a durable fabric on a traditional wooden loom, then hand dipped in a natural dye. After this the fabric is air dried and aged in the sun which gives it a unique vintage finish. This faded aqua tone is sure to brighten up any room or add a colour pop to your interior styling. We have carefully selected each cushion by hand.

• Due to the handmade nature of each cushion, there may be some minor irregularity in size, shape or colour. This is not considered as defects, but add to the charm and story

• Each cushion is ethically made by a wonderful Berber woman who is inspired by her rustic surroundings and village living. The women here are not overworked or stressed but are very much empowered and enjoy weaving whilst chatting with their friends and family - they have the time to put lots of love and care into each creation. The colours and Berber symbols used are illustrative of fertility, marriage, spirituality, rural living and ancient traditions. Our affiliation with these women positively contributes to their foundation. We are so honoured to work with them and delighted to share this slice of true Moroccan artisanry with you.
