Boucherouite is het Marokkaanse antwoord op het lappentapijt: geweven van gerecyclede stoffen, nylon, katoenrestjes en snippers in plaats van gesponnen wol. Wat deze stukken interessant maakt, zijn niet enkel de materialen, maar wat Marokkaanse weefsters ermee doen: hetzelfde instinct voor abstracte compositie, dezelfde durf met kleur, maar toegepast op wat voorhanden was. Geen twee zijn ooit gelijk omdat de bronmaterialen nooit gelijk zijn.

Dit rood-blauwe stuk heeft een loperformaat van 243 x 90cm, grafisch en gedurfd. Het abstracte patroon in gerecyclede stof heeft een directheid van volkskunst die poltapijten niet hebben.
