Zand en paars is een ongewone combinatie in Beni M'Guild-werk. De tribale patronen verschijnen doorgaans in rood, oranje en oker, wat het paarse element in dit stuk onderscheidend maakt. Tegen een zanderige perzikkleurige ondergrond in plaats van het gebruikelijkere crème, geeft de Beni M'Guild geometrische structuur van ruitmedaillons en omlijstende chevrons de kleurencombinatie een kader dat het laat werken.
