Boucherouite ist Marokkos Antwort auf den Flickenteppich: gewebt aus recycelten Stoffen, Nylon, Baumwollresten und Abschnitten statt gesponnener Wolle. Was diese Stücke interessant macht, sind nicht allein die Materialien, sondern das, was marokkanische Weberinnen damit tun: derselbe Instinkt für abstrakte Komposition, dieselbe Kühnheit mit Farbe, aber angewendet auf das, was gerade verfügbar war. Keine zwei sind je gleich, weil die Ausgangsmaterialien nie gleich sind.

Dieses rot-blaue Stück hat ein Läuferformat bei 243 x 90cm, grafisch und kräftig. Das abstrakte Muster in recyceltem Stoff hat eine volkskünstlerische Direktheit, die Florteppiche nicht haben.
